Prologue

She blew into town with the fog one summer night. No one knew where she had come from, or what she was doing there. Rumor had it she had squatted in one of the abandoned shacks down in the swamp, but no one knew for sure.

Although, some of the townsfolk swore they heard odd bangings coming from the basement in the middle of the night, and one even claimed to hear the occasional small explosion.

They took to calling her the Ghost Girl, due to her pale complexion and nocturnal habits, and over the next few weeks, and the mayor started collecting "sighting reports" from the local citizenry.  There were arguments as to whether she was a spectre herself, as every time anyone tried to get close, she would disappear into the mists.

Then one late night she appeared at the Twinbrooke Science Lab, inquiring about local "hauntings", and asking to purchase a few unusual electronic bits and pieces.

After that, the Ghost Girl sightings increased, and the mayor became increasingly worried, as the sightings now included strange lights, and an odd gun-like contraption.

The mayor checked with the scientists down at the lab, but they were no help. They had simply given her what she had asked for, and promptly turned to other, more important research. The mayor fumed, even as more reports of strange nighttime acivities poured in. It seemed some of the locals were turning to the Ghost Girl for help with what they insisted were ghostly hauntings.

What was even more unsettling, was that reports of poltergiests and spirit spottings were also on the rise. Could the two be connected? There was nothing to be done but to call on her best detective.
"Inspector Diamond, I need your help. Investigate this Ghost Girl for me, and let me know what you find out! I want to know if she is taking advantage of the my constituents."

"Of course, Mayor Lilac, I will be happy to take care of this problem for you. You can count on me to get to the bottom of this Ghost Girl once and for all!"
